How to use this pumpkin spice recipe
Besides your favorite pumpkin pie recipe, this homemade pumpkin pie spice mixture is a delicious way to add warm flavors to all the fall and seasonal baking. Use it for cinnamon buns, cookies, like these molasses crinkles, cakes and cranberry oatmeal muffins.
This homemade pumpkin pie spice recipe can be used anywhere that you would use apple pie spice, too. Use an equal amount of pumpkin pie spice in recipes like apple crisp, my apple walnut spice cake, peach cobbler, or apple blackberry cobbler.
Drinks of course, including the pumpkin spice latte, are another delicious way to enjoy pumpkin spice. Substitute the spices in this gingerbread syrup recipe with pumpkin spice and use it for stirring into coffee, tea, or topping French toast.
And, there's no need to keep your spice mix for sweet treats alone. Try using it for seasoning roast vegetables like butternut squash, rutabaga, or carrots for a seasonal spin. I love using it for my sweet potato crunch.
